Luminato is underway! The building site at the corner of Newbury and Franklin Streets has been cleared to make way for a new residential community. Several unique elements of the existing homes were removed and shared with a family that grew up in this home. Then, the Portland Fire Department used the buildings, uninhabitable for a long time, for training drills. Demolition marks the first phase of the construction of Luminato, and the commencement of Phase Two of sales of new homes. Seven of 24 are under contract and residents will move in next summer.
